I created Pathport in 2017 with a vision: '“Le Beau Voyage” (Beautiful Travel). My idea was simple – to collaborate with inspiring creatives, photographers and artists from around the world to put together carefully curated, intimate and visual travel guides. If you’ve been following us on Instagram, and if you’ve ever purchased one of our guides, you know about our our aesthetics. I’m not going to lie, we love beautifully designed places owned by passionate, local people.
But “Le Beau Voyage” has always been about so much more than just design. It’s an art. A mindset. A way of moving into this world with your eyes and heart wide open, mindful of every little detail, and of the bigger picture – how does my presence impact the life of the local communities? What is the imprint that I’m leaving behind me? What have I learnt about this destination?
Every year, I personally update all of our guides, and I cannot get enough of them. Going through the pages is like being a part of someone else’s story. The narrator walks us to his/her favorite places, sharing their feelings, tips and anecdotes. Pathport, Path-port: we are a library of shared paths around the world.
If you’re looking for a more traditional travel guide broken down into sections (where to stay, where to eat, where to play…), this is not what we do. Each of our guide is different, so read the description carefully to make sure you manage your expectations. From a road trip to discover the most beautiful villages of Portugal to exploring London from east to west using the Central tube line, we give carte blanche to our curators as to the way they wish to show you around.

“If this is your first time visiting Albania, tread carefully. Its wild landscapes, abundant and dynamic cuisine, and charismatic people may electrify your heart. Not to mention the Albanian hospitality code of 'Besa", which states that the home of an Albanian belongs to God and the guest. “I was born in Marseille and grew up visiting my grandmother in La Ciotat, a city where my maternal family has been living for six generations now. The post-swim salty skin, the blinding light of the sun, and the lound sound of cicadas – these are some of the memories of my childhood spent in La Ciotat with my adored Odette. The taste of the raspberry Vacherin in the shade of her ivy-covered blind with Schubert tunes on the piano, is an image that is forever engraved in my mind. I chose to move back here so that my children would grow up in my grandmother’s house, with a bit of her presence. La Ciotat is more than a city, it’s a way of life. “In case you are thinking about going to Ireland and are wondering where to start, here is the itinerary I used for a 10-day road trip through both countries one summer. It mixes cities such as Cork, Galway, Belfast and Dublin as well as smaller towns, spots along the coastline with impressive cliffs, and driving inland through beautiful green fields and valleys where the winding roads are perfectly photogenic and where the sheep will become the only sign of life for miles. If you have more time on the road, this itinerary is easy to modify, to add other spots or change the course of it to go in a different direction. We started the road trip by renting a car after landing in Dublin and left immediately knowing we would see the city during the last days of the vacation at the end of the trip before flying out. And if you’re not used to being on the other side of the road in a car, it definitely makes for a fun memorable vacation with lots of laughs while driving on Irish roads and roundabouts. Be careful, take your time and remember this mnemonic saying: “Right is wide, left is tight.”
